2. Hosting
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a hosting service provided by GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, and is delivered through the CDN and proxy infrastructure of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the website, GitHub and Cloudflare process technical data (in particular your IP address, date and time of the request, requested resource, browser type, operating system, and referring URL) to deliver the site and to protect it from attacks. Both providers are GDPR-compliant and covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; data is processed under their respective privacy policies (GitHub, Cloudflare).3. Server Log Files
Our hosting providers automatically collect and store information in server log files that your browser transmits. These include:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Requested resource (URL)
- HTTP status code
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Referring URL
This data is processed to ensure the stable and secure operation of the website (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) and is deleted after a maximum of a few days, unless it is required for the investigation of attacks or other security incidents.
4. External Services
We use a small number of external services. Personal data is only transferred to them as described below.
Font Awesome (icons). The icons on this website are loaded from cdnjs (Cloudflare, Inc.). Your browser requests the icon stylesheet and font files, which causes the usual technical data (IP address, browser type) to be transmitted to Cloudflare. No further personal data is processed.
pretalx (CFP & schedule). The Call for Papers and the event
schedule are operated by us on our own servers at
cfp.bsidesfrankfurt.org. The schedule widget embedded on the
Schedule page loads content from this server, which
receives your IP address when you visit it. Submissions to our Call
for Papers are handled on this platform and therefore fall under this
privacy policy.
pretix (tickets). Ticket sales are operated by us on our own
servers at tickets.bsidesfrankfurt.org. Ticket and purchase data is
processed by us on this platform under this privacy policy. Please
note that payment processing may be subject to the privacy policy of
the respective payment provider.
Social media links. Our website contains links to our profiles on X/Twitter, Instagram, Mastodon, and LinkedIn. The respective provider only receives data (e.g. your IP address) when you click on a link and are redirected to their platform. We have no control over the data collected by these providers.
5. Cookies
This website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics purposes, and no advertising cookies are set.
The CDN provider Cloudflare may set security cookies (e.g.
cf_clearance, __cf_bm) when its bot protection or challenge
mechanisms are triggered. These are technically necessary to protect
the website.
The self-hosted platforms pretalx and pretix set functional cookies (session and CSRF cookies) when they are actively used, e.g. when you log in, submit to the Call for Papers, or buy tickets. These are technically required for the respective service and are not used for tracking.

You have the following rights with regard to the processing of your personal data (Art. 15-21 GDPR):

- Right to data portability
- Right to object
